Hi, my name is Maisha and I am the owner/founder of FUNKtastic Scents, LLC.  My journey as a business owner started when I was making candles as a hobby. It was my frugal yet creative way out of buying gifts for the holidays. However, it was the Christmas of 2016 when I started to take my craft more seriously. That winter I knew it was time to make some SHMONEY when I received encouragement and positive feedback from my friends and family.  Lo and behold 5 months later, I held my first pop up, a year later I filed for my LLC. August of 2019 I went on my first London tour with the brand.

One major goal for the company is to start a mentoring program for black and brown teens. I want to teach the youth about financial literacy, entrepreneurship and balancing mental/emotional health. As a brand I want to give back and provide opportunities for the next generation.  I am learning so much in my late twenties that I wished I would have known earlier in life. It is my wish to provide young people with the knowledge, experience and support to become productive members of their communities. FUNKtastic Scents,LLC aspires to be the home base for the next generation of innovative entrepreneurs.
